Agatha All Along

Season One

TV · 2024 · Phase Five

Years after being trapped inside her own false sitcom reality at the end of WandaVision, Agatha Harkness is freed from the illusion but left powerless by Wanda Maximoff's hex. A mysterious, unusually knowledgeable goth teenager, Teen, seeks her out and begs her to guide him down the Witches' Road, a legendary and deadly magical gauntlet said to grant any witch who completes it what they most desire. Skeptical but tempted by the chance to reclaim her power, Agatha assembles a coven of down-and-out witches to attempt the Road alongside him. Midway through the season, Teen is revealed to be Billy Maximoff, Wanda's surviving son from her hexed reality, searching for a way to reach his lost brother Tommy. As they face trial after trial, the season peels back Agatha's centuries-long history and the coven members' own hidden traumas and motives. The finale resolves the Witches' Road, reincarnates Tommy, and concludes Agatha's own arc: she sacrifices herself to Death (in the form of Rio Vidal) to save Billy, dying but persisting afterward as a ghost. Billy's search for Tommy, and his path toward becoming Wiccan, is left open as a hook for future stories.
