Fleeing the Salem Seven, the coven arrives at a 1980s-styled cabin housing the Witches' Road's third trial and finds a Ouija board inside. Using it to contact spirits, Agatha becomes possessed by the vengeful ghost of her own mother, Evanora Harkness — killed by Agatha and her coven in 1693 — who turns the group against Agatha and urges them to kill her as retribution. In the ensuing struggle Alice Wu-Gulliver tries to expel Evanora from Agatha but is killed when Agatha absorbs her power instead. Teen breaks the possession by invoking the name of Nicholas Scratch on the Ouija board, but the trauma of the trial overwhelms him: he uses mind control to force Lilia and Jennifer to attack Agatha and nearly throw her into a mud pit, then telekinetically hurls Lilia and Jennifer into the pit themselves. As his power surges, a crown resembling the Scarlet Witch's headpiece materializes above his head, revealing that Teen is in fact Billy Maximoff.
