A flashback to 2023 shows 13-year-old William Kaplan celebrating his bar mitzvah, where fortune teller Lilia Calderu reads his split lifeline but withholds what she sees. When the Westview Hex destabilizes, the Kaplan family's car crashes and William dies from his injuries, but Billy Maximoff's soul takes over his body, reviving him with telepathic abilities and no memory of either life. Three years later, the resurrected Billy tracks down a Reddit user who was mind-controlled by Agatha Harkness during the Hex, and the conversation helps him piece together his true identity. Now calling himself "Teen," he returns to Westview and crushes the wooden sigil Lilia had placed on him to suppress his memories, then reveals to Agatha that he is both William Kaplan and Billy Maximoff, Wanda's son, seeking his twin brother Tommy. Agatha, suspicious but intrigued, persuades him to keep travelling the Witches' Road with her rather than part ways.
