Death's Hand in Mine — S01E07

Lilia Calderu faces her trial on the Witches' Road, a tarot reading that unfolds in a nonlinear structure jumping between her past and present. Flashbacks reveal Lilia has experienced time out of sequence since childhood, when her divination powers first emerged in her home coven in Sicily centuries earlier. As Agatha Harkness and Billy Maximoff look on, Lilia comes to realize that Rio Vidal is actually Death itself, walking alongside the coven all along — a truth Agatha, unlike Lilia, already knew. Reading her own cards in the castle's tarot chamber, Lilia draws the reversed Tower, sending the pursuing Salem Seven into the sky to be impaled on swords and saving her fellow witches. Having accepted her fate, Lilia lets go and falls, reuniting with her long-dead Maestra as the road claims her — though the episode leaves whether this is truly the end for her deliberately ambiguous.
