Weeks before Christmas, retired Avenger Clint Barton is trying to get home to his family for Christmas when a masked archer calling herself Ronin's successor draws him back into danger, forcing him to team up with young archer and superfan Kate Bishop, who idolizes Clint and has accidentally put herself in the crosshairs of the criminal underworld. As the pair investigate a black-market auction of Ronin's old gear, they uncover that Kate's mother Eleanor Bishop has real ties to crime boss Wilson Fisk, while Yelena Belova, having learned Clint was behind her sister Natasha's death, arrives in New York to kill him, and deaf former mercenary Maya Lopez pursues her own vendetta tied to Ronin's past. The season culminates at Eleanor's Christmas Eve party at Rockefeller Center, where the battle spills out around the plaza's tree and ice rink as Clint and Kate face down Kingpin's forces and Clint finally reckons with his Ronin identity before Yelena.
