Phil Coulson, revived after his death, leads a covert team handling the superhuman and alien fallout of a world that now knows such things exist. When HYDRA is exposed inside S.H.I.E.L.D., the organization collapses and Coulson rebuilds it in secret, while the team confronts the Inhumans, people transformed by Terrigen, among them agent Skye, who becomes Daisy Johnson. Later seasons pit them against the Inhuman tyrant Hive, a virtual-reality prison called the Framework, and the Ghost Rider Robbie Reyes. The team is then flung forward to the Kree-dominated Lighthouse station in 2091, and after they return to the present Coulson dies at the end of season 5. In season 6 part of the team searches space for Fitz while the rest face Sarge, a Coulson lookalike, and the Inhuman-hunting Izel. In the final season a Chronicom-enhanced Coulson LMD and the team leap through time from the 1930s to the 1980s to stop S.H.I.E.L.D. being erased from history, and in the finale Fitz helps Simmons recover her memories, including of their daughter Alya.
