With Inhumans emerging worldwide after Terrigenesis, S.H.I.E.L.D. operates openly under Director Coulson while Daisy recruits and trains newly powered people. Jemma Simmons has been pulled through the monolith to a barren alien world, and Fitz, Coulson and others spend much of the first half trying to find her and bring her home. Back on Earth, the team discovers that an ancient Inhuman named Hive is manipulating events, and he takes Grant Ward as his host body after Ward is killed. Hive builds a following, and plans to trigger Terrigenesis on a mass scale to remake humanity in his image. In the finale, the team stops him, and Lincoln sacrifices his life to carry Hive into space aboard a Quinjet, leaving Daisy devastated and the team shaken.
