Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Season 1

TV · 2013 · Phase Two

Following the Battle of New York, Phil Coulson, restored to life after his death, assembles a small covert S.H.I.E.L.D. team to investigate strange and superhuman threats. His crew is made up of pilot and fighter Melinda May, field agent Grant Ward, scientists Fitz and Simmons, and Skye, a hacker recruited from outside the organization. They tangle with the Centipede group and its super-soldier program, while Coulson is haunted by the unexplained secret of how he was brought back. When Captain America: The Winter Soldier exposes HYDRA's infiltration of S.H.I.E.L.D., the agency collapses and Coulson's team is left as fugitives; Ward is revealed to be a HYDRA sleeper who betrays them. The team learns that John Garrett, a senior S.H.I.E.L.D. figure working with HYDRA and Ward, is the Clairvoyant, and that Coulson's revival involved an alien-derived drug that has been damaging Garrett as well. After Garrett is defeated, Skye learns she is no ordinary orphan and that her father is searching for her, and Nick Fury names Coulson the new Director to rebuild S.H.I.E.L.D. from the wreckage.

  • Captain America: The Winter Soldier
