Marvel Cinematic Universe · Loki: Season Two

1893 — S02E03

TV · 2023 · 55 minutes · Phase Five

Tracking a hit on Renslayer's TemPad, Loki and Mobius follow a lead to a branched timeline, first glimpsing 1868 Chicago before arriving at the 1893 World's Fair. There they find Victor Timely, a bookish variant of He Who Remains, publicly unveiling a "Loom" prototype he intends as a benevolent invention to bring electricity to the world, while a wealthy industrialist he scammed by selling a faulty half-built Loom device, the "Robber Baron" Richard Dixon, pursues him for revenge. Sylvie also tracks Timely down and confronts him directly, sword drawn, intent on killing this Kang variant before he can ever build the machine that leads to the TVA's creation. A flashback reveals that in 1868, Renslayer and Miss Minutes delivered a TVA handbook to a young Timely on He Who Remains' dying orders, seeding his path toward the Loom. Mobius confronts the fugitive Renslayer over her motivations, but Sylvie ultimately spares Timely, letting him leave with Loki and Mobius for the TVA, and instead sends Renslayer through a time portal to the Citadel at the End of Time to be stranded with He Who Remains' corpse, as Miss Minutes hints she is holding back a damaging secret about Renslayer.
