Jessica Jones
TV · 2015
Jessica Jones, a super-strong former would-be hero, works as a cynical private investigator in Hell's Kitchen. In the first season she is hunted by Kilgrave, a man who can make anyone obey him and who once held her captive; with the help of Luke Cage, her adoptive sister Trish Walker and her neighbour Malcolm, she finally kills him. The second season digs into IGH, the program that gave her powers, revealing that her mother Alisa survived and was made into a volatile, super-strong killer, and it ends with Trish shooting Alisa dead to save Jessica, an act that breaks the sisters apart. In the third season Jessica faces Gregory Sallinger, a serial killer determined to expose her as a fraud, while Trish, now enhanced by the same IGH treatment, becomes a ruthless masked vigilante. After Trish murders Sallinger, Jessica stops her and exposes her, and Trish is arrested and taken away. Jessica hands Alias Investigations to Malcolm and prepares to leave, but after hearing Kilgrave's voice urge her to abandon everyone, she decides to stay in New York.
