Back in New York after The Defenders, Danny Rand protects Chinatown as the Iron Fist alongside Colleen Wing, while Misty Knight and Colleen begin working together. Danny's old friend Davos, convinced the Fist should have been his, allies with Joy Meachum and uses an ancient ritual and Danny's blood to take the Iron Fist power for himself, then wages a brutal war on the city's gangs. Joy's scheme also draws in Mary Walker, a dangerous soldier with a split personality, while Ward Meachum fights to stay sober and learns his sponsor Bethany is pregnant with his child. Colleen and Misty's investigation helps the heroes close in on Davos, and a second, interrupted ritual leaves the power divided between Davos and Colleen. In the final battle Colleen draws the remaining power out of Davos and becomes the Iron Fist, while Danny, accepting the power was never meant only for him, leaves New York with Ward. In a closing scene, the two are in Asia searching for answers about Orson Randall, a former Iron Fist, and Danny has found a new way to channel his chi through a pair of guns.
