Iron Fist

Season 1

TV · 2017

Danny Rand returns to New York fifteen years after the plane crash that seemingly killed him and his parents, having been trained in the mystical city of K'un-Lun to become the Iron Fist, but Ward and Joy Meachum refuse to believe he is who he claims, and he is committed to a psychiatric hospital. Once free, Danny teams up with dojo owner Colleen Wing and nurse Claire Temple, and learns that Harold Meachum is alive and secretly working with the Hand, whose heroin trade runs through Rand Enterprises. Colleen turns out to belong to a rival Hand faction led by her mentor Bakuto, who claims to oppose Madame Gao, and Danny's old K'un-Lun friend Davos arrives, angry that Danny left his post guarding the city. In the penultimate episode Bakuto shoots Joy and Davos kills Bakuto, and the finale reveals that Harold arranged the crash that killed Danny's parents; Danny and Ward unite against him, and Ward shoots his father dead and has the body cremated so the Hand cannot revive him. Joy, embittered, is left allied with Davos against Danny, while Danny and Colleen travel to K'un-Lun only to find its gate gone and the entrance ringed with dead Hand warriors.
