Marvel Cinematic Universe · WandaVision: Season One

Previously On — S01E08

TV · 2021 · 46 minutes · Phase Four

Agatha Harkness traps Wanda in a magic-draining basement and forces her to relive her past to learn how she created the Hex. Flashbacks trace Wanda's childhood in Sokovia and the bomb that killed her parents, her HYDRA experimentation and awakening of her powers alongside Pietro, and her devastation after losing Vision first at Thanos's hand and then again when she said goodbye to his dismantled body at S.W.O.R.D. In the present, a grieving Wanda drove to the empty lot Vision had bought in Westview, and her uncontrolled grief and power spontaneously reshaped the town into the Hex, resurrecting Vision and building the life she'd lost. Agatha also reveals her own 17th-century backstory as a witch who absorbed her coven's power, and the episode ends with her declaring Wanda a uniquely powerful "Scarlet Witch."
