Marvel Cinematic Universe · WandaVision: Season One

We Interrupt This Program — S01E04

TV · 2021 · 35 minutes · Phase Four

The show breaks from its sitcom pastiche to reveal the outside-world perspective: S.W.O.R.D. agent Monica Rambeau, back from the Blip and reeling from her mother's death, is sent to investigate a missing-persons case in Westview and discovers a hexagonal energy barrier surrounding the town. Working with FBI agent Jimmy Woo and astrophysicist Darcy Lewis, she learns the barrier is broadcasting a sitcom in which ordinary residents have been "cast" as characters and a supposedly dead Vision is alive. When Monica breaches the barrier and mentions Ultron to Wanda, Wanda violently expels her, and Monica confirms to S.W.O.R.D. that Wanda herself is generating and controlling the entire reality.
