As Karli Morgenthau and the Flag Smashers launch an attack on the Global Repatriation Council in New York, Sam Wilson debuts his new Captain America suit and shield to stop them, while Bucky Barnes and a fugitive Sharon Carter fight on the ground. As Karli is about to kill Sam, Sharon Carter -- revealed in the same scene as the criminal mastermind Power Broker who had secretly been backing Karli -- shoots and kills her own protege to save him. In the aftermath, Zemo's butler Oeznik carries out his master's final scheme, Val outfits John Walker with a new suit as the government-backed U.S. Agent, and Sharon Carter is secretly pardoned while continuing to sell intelligence as the Power Broker. The episode closes with Sam and Bucky reunited in Louisiana as the title changes to "Captain America and the Winter Soldier."
