X-Men
Apocalypse
Film · 2016 · 144 minutes · First Class Era
In 1983, the world's first mutant, the ancient and immensely powerful En Sabah Nur (Apocalypse), is revived after millennia of dormancy and is horrified by the state of modern civilization. Believing the strong should rule the weak, he recruits four mutants — including a grief-stricken Magneto — as his "Four Horsemen" to help him tear down and remake the world in his image. Professor Xavier, Mystique, Beast, and a new generation of young X-Men, including Cyclops, Jean Grey, Nightcrawler, and Storm, must band together to stop him before he achieves godlike power over the planet. The film resolves Mystique's arc across the First Class trilogy and Xavier's school is rebuilt and formally established as the X-Mansion by its end. A mid-credits scene shows a clean-up crew at the ravaged Weapon X facility collecting vials of Wolverine's blood, placed into a briefcase belonging to the Essex Corporation, hinting at Mister Sinister's future involvement.
