The first season of Marvel's animated anthology series, narrated by The Watcher, imagines nine alternate timelines branching from pivotal moments across the MCU — Peggy Carter taking the super-soldier serum, T'Challa becoming Star-Lord, a zombie outbreak, and more. Most episodes stand alone, each with its own single point of divergence from an established film. The two-part finale breaks that pattern, uniting several variant heroes as the "Guardians of the Multiverse" to stop an Ultron who has acquired the Infinity Stones and turned his sights on the multiverse itself.
