Promises — S01E02
TV · 2023 · 58 minutes · Phase Five
A 1995 flashback shows Fury discovering the Skrulls' existence when one dies in his car and reverts to its true form; a 1997 flashback shows him promising Skrull refugees, including a young Gravik, that he will find them a new homeworld. In the present, following the Moscow bombing, Fury learns that as many as a million Skrulls have been living undercover on Earth for years. Gravik consolidates his hold over the Skrull Council and pushes forward with the Harvest, a project to create superpowered Skrulls using DNA samples including Groot's, Cull Obsidian's, and the Extremis virus. Fury meets Colonel James "Rhodey" Rhodes in London, who instead hands him a military discharge, holding him accountable for the Moscow bombing and Maria Hill's death. The episode closes with a gut-punch reveal: Fury's wife, Priscilla, is herself a Skrull.
