The season two premiere relocates Peggy Carter to a sun-drenched but corrupt 1947 Los Angeles after an SSR case pulls her west. A physicist's body is found frozen and glowing in a lake during a heatwave, and the investigation traces back to Isodyne Energy's experimental particle accelerator, prospective senator Calvin Chadwick, and his actress wife Whitney Frost. Peggy reunites with Edwin and Ana Jarvis and crosses paths with scientist Jason Wilkes as a cover-up involving a corrupt police officer and a hired hitman unravels around the murder.
