Morbius
Film · 2022 · 104 minutes · Sony's Spider-Man Universe
Brilliant but terminally ill biochemist Dr. Michael Morbius, driven to find a cure for the rare blood disease that has afflicted him since childhood, splices his own DNA with that of a vampire bat in a desperate, unsanctioned experiment. The treatment appears to cure him and grants him superhuman strength, speed, and senses, but it also leaves him with an uncontrollable thirst for blood and heightened, violent instincts. His childhood friend and fellow sufferer Milo undergoes the same procedure in secret, but embraces the resulting power and bloodlust rather than fighting it, setting the two on a collision course. Morbius must confront Milo while trying to keep his own darker urges in check, aided by his colleague and love interest Dr. Martine Bancroft and pursued by two FBI agents investigating a trail of bloodless corpses. Two post-credits scenes reveal that Adrian Toomes, the Vulture, has been pulled from the MCU into this universe as a side effect of the multiverse-fracturing spell cast at the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home, and he seeks out Morbius.
