The Punisher
TV · 2017
Frank Castle, a former Marine who waged a one-man war on the criminals who killed his family (a campaign first seen in Daredevil season 2), goes into hiding under a false name once the gangs of New York are dealt with. A hacker called Micro, who is faking his own death, draws Frank back in, and together they uncover a conspiracy tying Frank's old military unit to black-ops killings and the cover-up of his family's deaths, while a Homeland Security agent, Dinah Madani, chases the same trail. Frank's closest friend Billy Russo, who runs a private military firm, turns out to be one of the culprits, and Frank leaves him badly scarred and in custody. In the second season Frank tries to live quietly but ends up shielding a teenage girl named Amy from a fanatical hired killer, John Pilgrim, and from a wider network of wealthy extremists. Russo escapes, recovers his memory and plots revenge, and the series closes with Frank killing him in a final confrontation. Frank then accepts that his violent calling is his permanent path.
