Marvel Cinematic Universe · Daredevil: Born Again: Season One

Straight to Hell — S01E09

TV · 2025 · 57 minutes · Phase Five

In the season finale, an opening flashback reveals that a year earlier Vanessa visited Poindexter in custody and directed him to eliminate Foggy's client, promising him early release — the origin of the season's central murder. In the present, Matt Murdock wakes in the hospital recovering from taking a bullet meant for Fisk, escapes during a citywide blackout engineered via Fisk's control of the power company after an attempt on his life by Buck Cashman, and reunites with Frank Castle, who fights alongside him against Fisk's anti-vigilante task force. Karen Page returns to New York, and she and Matt dig through Foggy's old case files to expose Fisk's Red Hook money-laundering scheme. Fisk uses the unrest to declare a "Safer Streets" curfew and lethal-force authorization, consolidating near-authoritarian control of the city, while Frank is captured by corrupt cops and left imprisoned in a dungeon alongside Jack Duquesne as Fisk and Vanessa celebrate. Battered, Matt regroups with his remaining allies at Josie's Bar, bracing for what comes next.
