Scott Lang is enjoying celebrity as a memoirist while his daughter Cassie has secretly been developing, with Hope's parents, a device to map the Quantum Realm. When the device activates, it pulls Scott, Cassie, Hope, Hank, and Janet into the realm, where Janet's hidden history is revealed: during her original exile she encountered Kang the Conqueror, an exile ruling the realm who plots to conquer other timelines, and she sabotaged the power core he needs to escape. Allied with realm-native rebels, the family is drawn into open conflict with Kang. Scott and Hope ultimately destroy both Kang and the power core to escape back to Earth.
