The season two (and, as it turned out, series) finale. Peggy Carter and Daniel Sousa rescue Jason Wilkes as Whitney Frost absorbs the Zero Matter released from him, with Howard Stark's return aiding their escape. Joseph Manfredi, unnerved by Frost's instability and her plan to reopen a dimensional rift, distracts her while Stark and Wilkes build a replica of her device to draw the Zero Matter out of her body via a gamma cannon, leaving Frost institutionalized. Jack Thompson, having found a compromising file on Carter and a mysterious Council of Nine key among Vernon Masters' effects, departs for New York and is shot in his hotel room, the file taken by an unknown assailant, while Carter chooses to stay in Los Angeles with Sousa.
