Venom
Film · 2018 · 112 minutes · Venom Saga
San Francisco investigative journalist Eddie Brock is fired, and costs his fiancée Anne her job too, after he confronts Life Foundation CEO Carlton Drake on-camera using confidential documents he took without authorization from Anne's law firm files, exposing Drake's illegal human experiments. Drake's company has recovered four alien symbiotes from a crashed space probe and has been bonding homeless test subjects with them. Months later, a whistleblowing scientist leads Eddie back into Drake's lab, where he is accidentally infected with a symbiote called Venom, gaining enhanced strength, agility, and a monstrous alter ego with a taste for human flesh. As Eddie and Venom clash and gradually forge an uneasy partnership, Drake becomes host to a more powerful symbiote, Riot, which plans to launch a Life Foundation rocket to bring the rest of the symbiote species to Earth and conquer it. Eddie and Venom must overcome their differences to stop Riot before the rocket can launch. A mid-credits scene has Eddie interview imprisoned serial killer Cletus Kasady, and a post-credits scene previews the upcoming animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
