Marvel's The Defenders
TV · 2017
Matt Murdock, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Danny Rand each pursue their own cases across New York until separate leads reveal the same enemy, the ancient criminal organisation known as the Hand. Its leader Alexandra and her fellow immortals plan to dig beneath the city for the remains of a substance that keeps them resurrecting, and the street-level heroes are forced into an uneasy alliance. Along the way Matt is reunited with his lost love Elektra, who has been brought back as the Hand's weapon, and the group falls out over trust and tactics. After a final confrontation in the tunnels under the Midland Circle tower, the building collapses with Matt and Elektra inside. The survivors go their separate ways, with Matt presumed dead.
