Wonder Man
TV · 2026 · Phase Six
Simon Williams, a struggling Los Angeles actor, discovers he has ionic powers just as he fights for a part in a remake of the cult film Wonder Man. He teams up with Trevor Slattery, the washed-up actor once used as the fake Mandarin, who coaches him through the audition process while secretly reporting on him to the Department of Damage Control. Simon has to hide his abilities from the studio system, which bars superpowered people from acting after an earlier incident, even as he lands the role and his power flares up on set. When Simon's explosion wrecks the soundstage, Trevor takes the blame by reviving his Mandarin persona and is locked away in the DODC's desert prison. Simon later gets inside, breaks Trevor out, and the two fly off together.
