What If... Peter Quill Attacked Earth's Mightiest Heroes? — S02E02

TV · 2023 · 30 minutes · Phase Five · alternate

In an alternate 1988, the Ravagers deliver young Peter Quill to his father Ego instead of raising him themselves, and Ego persuades Quill to help him spread his consciousness across the cosmos. Six months later Quill returns to Earth having ravaged other worlds, prompting Peggy Carter and Howard Stark to assemble a team of heroes — Bill Foster, T'Chaka, Bucky Barnes, Wendy Lawson, and a reluctant Hank Pym with his daughter Hope — to stop him. After the team confronts Quill on Coney Island, Hope secretly frees him, letting him flee to Missouri, where Ego overwhelms the assembled heroes. Pym manages to reach the conflicted Quill and convince him to turn against his father, while Bucky, nearly manipulated into assassinating Quill by his handlers, is stopped when Stark invokes his friendship with Steve Rogers. Pym and Quill destroy Ego's avatar using the planetary seed, ending the immediate threat, though the team recognizes Ego himself must still be confronted.
