Pulled through time by the bangle, Kamala arrives in 1947 Karachi during the chaos of Partition and finds her great-grandmother Aisha, fatally wounded by Najma after refusing to surrender the bangle. As Aisha dies, she asks Kamala to guide her infant daughter Sana back to her father Hasan, and Kamala realizes she has always been the "stargirl" of family legend, destined to reunite them. Interwoven flashbacks trace Aisha and Hasan's courtship years earlier and Najma's betrayal, revealing the bangle's origin as a Noor Dimension artifact and the true nature of the Clandestine's feud with Aisha.
