Kamala and her mother travel to Karachi, where her grandmother Sana reveals the bangle has been trying to communicate through visions of a train station. Investigating there, Kamala is found by Kareem of the Red Daggers, a vigilante group that has been hunting the Clandestines, and their leader Waleed explains that Najma intends to use the bangle to tear open the Veil and flood Earth with the Noor dimension's Djinn. After the Clandestines escape custody and track Kamala to Karachi, a fight breaks out in which Waleed is fatally wounded and the bangle is struck, hurling Kamala into a vision of the 1947 Partition of India.
