Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Film · 2017 · 136 minutes · Phase Three

Shortly after their adventures on Xandar, the Guardians are hired by the golden-skinned Sovereign to defend a cache of valuable batteries, but Rocket's theft of some of them provokes a pursuit that is interrupted when a mysterious being called Ego reveals himself as Peter Quill's father and invites the group to his home planet. While Quill grapples with what having a Celestial father means for his identity, Gamora and Nebula confront their sisterhood, and Yondu is forced to reckon with the Ravager clan that exiled him. Ego is ultimately revealed to have engineered Quill's mother's death and planned to use Quill to spread his consciousness across the galaxy, forcing the Guardians to unite with Yondu and Nebula to stop him, at the cost of Yondu's life.
