Fantastic Four
Rise of the Silver Surfer
Film · 2007 · 92 minutes · Fox Fantastic Four
As Reed Richards and Sue Storm's wedding is repeatedly disrupted, a mysterious silver-skinned herald begins tearing across Earth ahead of a planet-devouring entity, Galactus. Cosmic energy from the herald's passing near Latveria revives the dormant, metal-encased Victor Von Doom, and the U.S. government enlists his help — and Doom's own hidden agenda — to study the threat. The Fantastic Four learn the herald, the Silver Surfer, serves Galactus by scouting worlds for him to consume, and race to intercept his board, a source of immense cosmic power. Doom double-crosses the team, briefly stealing the Surfer's power for himself, forcing the Four to team up with the redeemed Surfer to stop both Doom and Galactus. The Surfer ultimately turns against his master, sacrificing himself to divert Galactus away from Earth, while a mid-credits scene reveals he has survived.
