Fantastic Four
Film · 2005 · 106 minutes · Fox Fantastic Four
Scientist Reed Richards persuades industrialist Victor Von Doom to let him and pilot Ben Grimm use Doom's space station to study an approaching cosmic storm, bringing along Sue Storm and her brother Johnny. Exposed to the cosmic radiation, the four gain extraordinary abilities: Reed can stretch his body, Sue turns invisible and projects force fields, Johnny bursts into flame and flies, and Ben is transformed into the super-strong, rock-skinned Thing. After proving themselves as heroes during a rescue on the Brooklyn Bridge, the press dubs them the Fantastic Four, and they settle into New York's Baxter Building while searching for a cure. Victor, also altered by the storm and slowly turning into living metal, blames Reed for his ruin and reinvents himself as the villainous Doctor Doom to seek revenge. The team must set aside their personal struggles with their new powers to stop Doom before he can use his growing abilities to kill them and seize control of their technology.
