Marvel Cinematic Universe · Moon Knight: Season One
Asylum — S01E05
TV · 2022 · 50 minutes · Phase Four
After being shot by Harrow, Marc and Steven awaken in Putnam Psychiatric Ward, where Harrow insists Moon Knight was a delusion — until the hippo goddess Taweret reveals they are actually dead, adrift on a boat through the Duat, and must have their hearts weighed to earn passage to the Field of Reeds. Confronting suppressed memories, the pair relive Marc's abusive childhood, his brother Randall's drowning, and his mother's blame, which finally explains the origin of his dissociative identity disorder and his pact with Khonshu. When their combined heart still fails to balance, Steven sacrifices himself by leaping into the Duat so Marc's heart can settle and move on.
